Exploring New Economy in India :" Social Economy"

After this melodramatic Recession drama, Can we dare to explore new opportunities in the market?
Perhaps yes! This is the time. But the next big question, where? and what can we explore?
The answer is here : Our next new economy is "Social Economy" which is in real meaning to strengthen our economy and our society both.
Few months ago, when i was interacting with an IIM-L guy who was here in Hyderabad for summer internship. We discussed on this topic in course of our discussion on 'new job opportunities in Indian market'.
Later on when i googled ,i found that it was a significant % in the placement pie chart of B-school who went for entrepreneurship.
Although I should not forget about Mr.Arvind Adiga's Booker prize winning novel 'The White Tiger' which depicts that India is the land of entrepreneurs.
In last few years,if we see the placement of top B-school in India, grads are following a new trend. They are showing their interest in diversified unique business ideas. These ideas are new wealth creator in the market. They are having their goal to create value for society at large especially the disadvantaged section. It is also unlike the conventional entrepreneurs who work to maximize only their shareholder's value.
Now in Internet culture, Social Entrepreneurs can use all tools of Modern Business-Technology,Innovation,Capital,New Management Technique and Free market. In addition to that they can work freely without any greed, without any competition ,only with unlimited opportunities in unexplored world.
There is one big doubt in ours mind about social enterprises that they are loss-making,grant-funded charities. But They are not(check out above list). Here, you can also easily find the best intelligent mind in this upcoming domain like Mr Kaushlendra(of Samriddhii),an IIM-A graduate, now helping small vegetable growers and vendors to get the best price. He started his business journey from Bihar where another such guy can never think to start his career.
But at least now he can prove that who dare to dream,They can also make it in real.

People are seeking opportunities in Slums,Sanitation,Women Welfare,Agriculture,
Education,Health care,Technology,Energy and from somewhere which we can also not imagine.

Just Google these names of organization from above chart in your leisure,i am sure, you will definitely get beautiful innovative ideas to do something differently in your life.(pls click on the above picture)

Consequences of Global Slowdown

Last week i was going through the exclusive report of Harvard Business Review, There was very detailed analysis on the future of global economy.I just want to present it in more simpler abstract.
How this Recession will act as a catalyst to reshape our world economy?,is a big question mark in front of us. Probably the answer lies in several interlinked issues and world economic and social policies.
In my last post,I have already given the latest half yearly GDP outcomes(as per IMF result Aug09) of the global economy which clearly indicate that the needle of global economic growth has been shifted to developing countries after this recession.the developed countries are saturating and that saturation is transforming as new contingencies in developing countries.last G8 and G10 Summit are the example of this where all economist and diplomats were emphasizing the new business opportunities in developing countries.
Developing countries are becoming relatively greater markets.as per IMF statics(Apr 09)-these will expand at 1.6% in 2009 where China' economy will be at 6.5% and India will be at 4.5%.while developed economy will shrink by 3.8% this year.
So what should be the next steps?
1. A growing divide: since the market is shrinking in developed countries hence there will be steep decrement in the export. To make it intact we have to generate demand in our own country or parallely we have to focus on new business areas in other growing countries(like AFRICAN Continent which is growing at 2% in 2009 as per IMF,and it also have a huge potential for export) where we can meet their demand and supply with our exports.for that our government must invest in infrastructures and they must reduce taxes particularly on products of low income consumers to maintain force in demand.

2. Return of family styled leaders: specially in BRIC (BRAZIL,RUSSIA,INDIA and CHINA)Countries, business is in the form of state govern or family oriented because of that they adopt long term perspective. driven by personal pride and national interest they don't dance to the tune of stock market.

3. A Reversal in M&A: since Recession indirectly bring the opportunities for the big fishes to eat small fishes(fish=company).but in emerging countries, the big giants must focus on small and medium size business for M&A, keeping their own monetary funding in mind. Tata's Jaguar and Land Rover deal could be the example of bad timing deal if they could not get money from the banks.

4. Sustainability: in last G8-G10 summit, climate control had discussed as a prime issue next to financial crisis. so now the policy maker must take it in consideration when they draft the economic policies. they must think on sustainable policies.for example: the policies for Automobile and Manufacturing industries must be drafted as per global carbon emission norms.

It is high time when our Economist and Politicians must sit together and they must explore new opportunities. It is true that it is only the 'Time' which will only tell us the real picture of recovery whether it is 'V' shaped sharp-recovery or 'U' shaped slow recovery.

Global Economic Meltdown and China'The Stellar'

“Buri Nazar Wale Tera Moonh Kala”. Thank god! Our Great India is out of global meltdown (officially).Although since the beginning; we were insulated from this melodramatic global event. There was a lot of continuous fuss about global downturn. There was a great hue and cry all over the globe because financial crisis had broken the backbone of global economy. Job crises, mortgage problem, credit problem, money lending all seemed out of hand.
Then, all the biggest economy of the world poured a lot of money in their country in the form of stimulus packages to maintain money flow in the market because proper flow of money in the market is the symbol of a healthy economy.Although the global recovery rate is slow yet it seems tangible. Its recovery symptoms can be visualized especially with the Asian and Europe market.
The economists are predicting that the situation will improve but world’s economic growth cycle will roll after 2010.

China
This year China will probably account for the whole of net world economic growth. China's GDP growth is projected to be 8.0% or above. Its economy grew by 7.9% year-on-year in the second quarter and is accelerating. China's performance is stellar in conditions where this year most major economies will shrink.
This magic is because of unique and indeed "Chinese characteristics".
China has a series of integrated and mutually reinforcing policies. There are few key aspects of it like:
• The first is the china's high proportion of exports
• Second is China's high level of investment.
• Third, a decisive point showing China has a "socialist market economy" and not "market capitalism", is its method of macro-economic regulation.
With its policies, there is no doubt that China could be next global power.

Charisma of Web 2.0

Finally the battle is won by : Web 2.0 for the millionth word in the English dictionary.
Well I had a soft corner for 'Jai ho'...and 'Slumdog'.......
But i think there is full justice with this technical cum social word.We can easily justify the importance of this word with its usages. Without Web2.0,we don't spend a single day on the internet. whether be a school going child, adult or an old person , everyone wants to use this technology because it makes everything quick to use like you can see nowadays at every website there will be virtual tours, forums, blogs, directly linked picture gallery with Flickr, Picasa and a new word of 2009 Twitter.
I remember the days of my engineering when there was a wind of 'Orkutting'. Everyone was willing to make his/her account on Orkut. slowly we saw Facebook, Myspace and a lot more....(In fact, as of May 2009, 49.83% of Orkut's users are from Brazil,
followed by India with 17.51%.Originally hosted in California, in August 2008 Google announced that Orkut will be fully managed and operated in Brazil, by Google Brazil, in the city of Belo Horizonte because of the large Brazilian user base and growth of legal issues).
Social networking websites which are very useful for open discussion,to find out place, person and anything. In forums, we can chat on the topics and take the reviews from the global users. It is such a wonderful place that can make friends from all over the globe and can also bring close to the long-lost friends. We feel happy to see our old friend on these social networking websites.
There are also a different type of categories like Linkedin:a professional business, career networking website.
Blogging: i called it as 'Har aadmi ki Aawaz'. With this, you are free to say whatever you feel. Use it now and put your views in front of the world.
YouTube: freely upload and download any video which you wanna do.show it,share it with your friends and family. it is amazing. even few News-channels are showing the programs fully based on YouTube.
Flickr: take photographs and show to the world. a excellent website which is full of amazing and brilliant pics around the world.
Lastly the new word which is on everyone's tongue: Twitter,a micro blogging technology.
latest IRANIAN President's elections is a distinct example of the importance of this technology when all media was barred in Iran. then, Twitter was the weapon of the Iranian people. It came out as the new face of media. All meeting, protest, rallies and all was being conducted through it. even not only those people but also the whole world was in contact with them through Twitter....
Now you can see almost all corporate companies, universities even our diplomats are twittering. where you can have their updates at every second. It is much easier than 'sms'ing.
These are just few gems of web2.0. There are a lot more which are still left to me to explore.
so Keep Blogging, Keep Twittering and Keep Connecting...........Because in today's busy life, only these are the helpful things which realize us that we are closer to others and make us proud that Yes, we invented something which is more useful for our relationships, our feelings and our humanity.
